In this case we had to design a piece of furniture to store shoes in a large format, which could also serve as a seat, to be placed on a covered terrace. It would not be completely outdoors, but neither in an enclosed space.
We thought it would be interesting for it to have the lines and proportions of a sideboard and at the same time function of a bench. We designed a robust piece of furniture, whose main body contrasts with the organic character of the legs and upholstery, inspired by California and the architecture of the Costa del Sol in the 60s and 70s.
We distinguished between different types of storage: a central top-opening storage system located in the seat part and large drawers at the ends that allowed us to use the upper sides as small tables.
Materials: Birch board finished in oak for the body. Iroko for the legs. Cushions upholstered in 100% waterproofed cotton canvas with floral print. Hazelnut-coloured vegetable tanned leather handles
