This sideboard and the Alpha TV unit were commissioned at the same time. Both are in the same space and needed to speak a similar language.
In both cases, we opted to highlight the femininity, subtlety, and Scandinavian feel that the space already possessed through our pieces.
As it was a unit for records, it had to be capable of supporting a lot of weight. In addition to this use, it also needed to have capacity for other types of objects.
We decided to divide the main body into three compartments: one of them intended for records, another with a middle shelf, and the last one with a middle shelf and a sliding door constructed from a series of slats that reminded us of Le Corbusier's brise-soleil, and generated a similar effect to the records on the other side of the unit. We thought it was interesting to provide the option of moving the door to the central compartment, leaving the leftmost compartment exposed if desired.
