Refocusing

When we started Taller, in 2013, we weren't very clear about what exactly we wanted to do. We knew that we needed to link our work with our lifestyles and with everything we believed in, but we weren't very clear about what form to give it. We had experience as architects and designers, but crafts were a hobby for us.

Little by little, without overthinking it, we turned our hobby into our livelihood. At first, we built furniture for ourselves, and that's how our friends and family started commissioning us. At that time, we also did Interior Design and incorporated custom-designed and built furniture into the spaces. This whole process was our school. Along the way and self-taught, we researched and perfected traditional carpentry techniques, and then, naturally, we followed the same process with bags.

Now, we feel the need to re-focus. To start, we will try to limit the size of our constructions. During this time, on many occasions, we have been overwhelmed by the dimensions of the pieces to be built, too large to work comfortably in the workshop.

Furthermore, and most importantly, we have been accumulating ideas, design lines, and formal languages for years, with the intention of using them in small and medium-sized objects, and now, the time has come to build and offer all these ideas.

This is what you will find on our website: objects with carefully thought-out, contrasted, and tested designs. Built and finished with care using techniques we have perfected over more than half a decade of activity.
