Everyone is asleep. The usual hustle and bustle that fills this house teeming with teenagers is now at rest.

Only the dust particles remain in motion, dancing weightlessly in the light of a sunbeam entering through the patio door. Slowly, gently, without a clear path beyond the light that makes them visible. A path that ends up illuminating the wicker weaving of an old sofa. A texture very different from everything around it. Its lights and shadows highlight its particular materiality; it's not a continuous surface. Something made me wonder how it was made; perhaps someone had spent days meticulously weaving all those wicker rods, combining colors and creating textured patterns with them.

It's fascinating to be carried away by those dust motes, by the calm and tranquility with which they move aimlessly.

It's fascinating to see how the light bathes that wicker weaving, which, for then incomprehensible reasons, conveyed the same feeling of calm and slowness as the dust motes.

I suppose that at 5 years old, everything is surprising; you think less and observe more.

Since then, I have always associated weaving with calm, with light, with stopping.

I think we all actually do: baskets for picnics, for the beach, hammocks for a good nap…

From this feeling of calm, tranquility, well-being, from these weavings and this craftsmanship, MIMBRE emerges, a series of bags inspired by traditional basketry to adapt it to our daily lives, to introduce all the symbolism of weaving into our daily lives, using the colors of the sky, of light, of shadow, and of the basket.
